This is the first post of my new blog. I’m a bit of a US politics addict and this blog is designed to act as an outlet for my obsessive interest and a guide to some of the key issues in US politics that is accessible to UK readers. I’ve found that so many US news events are often filtered through the lens of social media (with its inevitable bias) or oversimplified by the news media who need to distil a complex issue to casual readers/viewers.
I will always endeavour to inform and explain in a manner that is free of my own personal views – if you feel that I haven’t managed this, please let me know. I’ll also try to ensure that these posts introduce you to this issue but dip into the nuance in a way that is often missing from most UK news sources.
If there are any issues that you feel I should discuss in a future blog post, please let me know.
One final thing – I will not proclaim myself as the go to expert in US politics, nor will I delve too much into elaborate analysis of issues. I will simply try to share the news in a way which leaves you informed enough to draw your own conclusions.
